Hyderabad Airport

The strategically located, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Hyderabad has placed the city prominently on the global aviation map, thereby contributing to the prosperity, growth and all-round economic development of the region. RGIA has been awarded the Leadership Energy and Environment Design (LEED) ‘Silver’ rating for its eco-friendly design.
The airport has a Modular integrated Cargo facility spread over 14,330 Sq.mt and has the capacity to handle 1, 50,000 MT per annum. Other facilities include an Aerospace SEZ with an operational MRO facility and an Aviation academy. The Airport has won the most sought after ACI ASQ world number 1 award four times in its 10-year-long journey. It has been consistently ranked among the top ten in the world, in surveys conducted by AirHelp. RGIA is designed to cater to 12 million passengers per annum (MPPA) which can be developed phase-wise to cater to an ultimate capacity of 40 MPPA. It is one of the busiest airports in the country.

Railways

Served by the South Central Railway Zone

The first Railway station was started at Secunderabad in 1874 and is also the first green railway station in India. The railway network here is the best in the country. It is well connected to all the parts of the State and Country including major ports. The length of the railway line in Telangana is 1736.67 Route Km.

Dry Ports (CFS/ICDs):

  1. Inland Container Depot, Hyderabad:
    CONCOR had set up an Inland Container Depot (ICD) in the premises of Railway Goods Shed Complex, Sanatnagar, Hyderabad.The full-fledged Dry Port serves the hinterland of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra. CONCOR is planning to setup two logistics parks each at Karimnagar and Patancheru.
  2. RGIA has established perishable cargo terminal, express terminal, free trade zone and dedicated pharma zone. Export cargo that was earlier diverted to Chennai or Mumbai will be soon routed through this free trade zone.

Energy

The State has a captive power generation capacity of 16,246 MW up from 7,778 MWs in 2014. The solar capacity has gone up from 74 MWs to 3,650 MWs now. Telangana State is now self-sufficient in power. It has not purchased electricity from exchanges in the last few years. On the other hand, it has sold power worth 280 crores to other States. In just five years from formation and a deficit situation, the State is marching towards a power surplus situation. Agriculture, Industry, and domestic consumers have an uninterrupted power supply of consistent quality at reasonable prices.

Water

Mission Kakatiya: This project aims to rejuvenate all the water bodies in the state. There are about 46,531 tanks and water bodies spread across the state, including 5000 chain-link tanks. Though tanks are mainly used for irrigation purposes, they are also used for fish culture, as common grazing land, as a source of clay for pottery, etc. In short, tanks are the core of the rural ecosystem.

Mission Bhagiratha was launched with the objective of providing safe, adequate, sustainable and treated drinking water for the entire state. All the existing water supply schemes and ongoing drinking water projects are integrated and upgraded with the mission Bhagiratha, with the ultimate objective of providing drinking water 100 Litres per Capita per Day (LPCD) in rural areas, 135 LPCD to all Municipalities and 150 LPCD to all Municipal Corporations. 10% of water in all the reservoirs is reserved for industrial usage purpose and necessary water drawl permissions are also accorded.

Fuel Pipeline

East West Gas Pipeline (EWPL) traverses through the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Gujarat. EWPL has been authorized by Government of India as a common carrier pipeline. The current gas source for EWPL is the significant gas discoveries made in the KG-D6 block owned by RIL, British Petroleum (BP) and Niko Resources.
