Telangana- A $50 Billion Life Sciences Ecosystem

Telangana, the 29th and newest state of India, has been ranked #1 in ease of doing business in India and has come to be globally known for it’s commitment to a graft-free administration and zero tolerance for corruption

Telangana holds a dominant position in Life Sciences sector and has emerged as the pharma capital of the Country contributing to about 1/3rd of the pharmaceutical production

Life Sciences Policy for the State of Telangana (2015-2020)

Leveraging the state’s leadership position in the Pharma sector, Government of Telangana is developing Hyderabad Pharma City in an area of 14,000 acres, which will be the largest and first of its kind, smart ecosystem creating a new international benchmark for Sustainable Industrial Cities.

Situated just about 25 KMs from the Hyderabad International airport, the cluster will provide centralized smart infrastructure solutions for R & D and manufacturing units.

Genome Valley

Genome Valley has emerged as the preferred destination for major R&D focused life sciences companies, in India. It houses over 150 Companies, making it the country’s largest cluster of multi-tenanted lab space infrastructure in a single location. Located in Shameerpet – Hyderabad, Genome Valley is a perfect blend of knowledge parks, special economic zones, multi-tenanted wet laboratories, incubation facilities, office spaces along with outstanding support facilities.

In addition, the state has also set up a medical devices park at Sultanpur near Hyderabad to host a wide range of manufacturing units in this sector. The park will have an MoU with China Medical City located at Taizhou and another Medical Devices Park located in Gwangju in South Korea, to exchange knowledge with them. Over 14 companies have already initiated the process of setting up their units in this facility.
