Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self-Certification System
If the industrial sector has to perform efficiently, regulatory issues must be addressed and approvals need to be streamlined. Today, an industry takes about 12-18 months to get running and any delay has a huge impact on all the stakeholders involved.
As an important step towards a single-window system that is zero-graft, zero-tolerance to corruption, a transparent administration, effective grievance redressal mechanism and above all timely approval system without any manual interface, The Government of Telangana enacted the Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self-Certification System (TSiPASS) in 2014 and rules framed in 2015.
In the last five years the scheme attracted nationwide attention with its investor-friendly concept and the following salient features:
- End to end online system without physical interface
- Single common application for all approvals
- Self-certification system
- Just 12 documents are required for applying to 25 Departments for establishment or operation
- Mega Industries approved in 15 days and others in max of 30 days
- Maximum facilitation and minimum inspection
- Online tracking of application status
- Query can be raised only once by the department
- Payments required are indicated clearly and to be made online
- Right to approvals with Penalty on Officers causing delay
- Deemed approval if clearance is not issued within the time frame
